For a long time, PC gamers have been waiting patiently for a new Splinter Cell game. And, from the looks of it, the wait will be over soon. As The Information reported, Ubisoft is indeed working on a new Splinter Cell game. However, there is a catch. According to the report, this new Splinter Cell game will be a VR title.

The Information notes that Facebook has already signed deals for exclusive VR versions of Assassin’s Creed and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell.

“Facebook hopes that seeding Oculus with popular game franchises will help attract more people to buy its VR headsets—which have so far been only moderately successful—and increase the amount of time spent on the social network’s platform.”

What’s also interesting is that Luca Ward (famous italian voice actor who voices Sam Fisher in almost every Splinter Cell) has confirmed a new Splinter Cell game. According to Luca Ward, this new Splinter Cell game will come out in 2021.

As Luca Ward said:

“There is this Splinter Cell return that will be back with a final chapter, not sure about this, but they didn’t know if doing this in 2021. It was a 2020 project, but then something happens and severe big projects stopped in 2020.”

Now if we put two and two together, we can safely assume that a new Splinter Cell VR game will come out in 2021.
