Red Dead Redemption feature

Latest version of RPCS3 offers 10fps performance increase in various games, including Red Dead Redemption

The team behind the best Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3, has shared a new development video. In this video, the team showcases a number of games running faster on the latest version of RPCS3. Some of them are inFamous, God of War: Ascension, Yakuza 3 and Red Dead Redemption.

Unfortunately, most of these games are still not perfectly emulated. They do run better than before, but it will take a while until we can enjoy them with 60fps on the PC.

According to the team, these performance increases have been achieved by reworking the Vulkan render passes. In most cases, this new tweak brings a 10fps performance boost. Again, the aforementioned games are still not running with 60fps, however we’re slowly but steadily getting there.

These new performance improvements are available in the latest master version of RPCS3 that you can download from here.

Have fun!
