It might be related to a DisplayID issue. I think that was the problem I was having, my newer monitor may have used a newer type of DisplayID that my GTX 1080 Ti wasn’t recognizing until the GPU driver would load and then the screen would come on.

NVIDIA has had some DisplayID issues with RTX 30 series, and may have some with RTX 40 series as well. They have firmware update tools for their own GPU’s (not sure if they work on partner cards like ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, etc). More info at the following link:

Doesn’t seem to be the case with only the older GPU’s not displaying BIOS on the screen. I have a 4090 and with CSM disabled in the BIOS it does not show the BIOS screen when connected over DP but shows it on HDMI connection. Seems to be a pretty common issue, not sure if it has anything to do with the monitor as well (G7 Odyssey)

Windows power plans don’t control everything related to CPU power saving. The BIOS is in control of quite a bit of that.

That’s if you have it turned on in your bios as well as adrin software.

You don’t have to disable that in the bios, you can simply turn the windows power plan to high performance or ultimate performance and it’ll run at the all core boost clock the whole time.
