WoW Visions of N’Zoth turns around declining user numbers, DBZ: Kakarot sets new record for the franchise

SuperData has shared its monthly report, stating that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has shared a new record for the franchise. Moreover, the latest update for World of Warcraft, Visions of N’Zoth, has turned around declining user numbers.

Going into more details, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has sold more than double those of any previous Dragon Ball title. As we’ve already reported, the game has sold over 1.5 million copies in its first month.

On the other hand, WoW’s subscriber numbers grew 17% from December to January (not including China). However, these numbers are still down substantially (64%) from August 2019, the month World of Warcraft Classic was released.

SuperData also reports that January was a mixed bag for battle royale games.

“Fortnite earnings continued their gradual decline and hit their lowest level since November 2017. Likewise, a January update to Apex Legends increased console monthly active users by 12% month-over-month, but the game generated less revenue than in December, which saw a successful holiday event. In contrast, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds released its Season 6 update on both PC and console in January, and PC players responded particularly well. In-game spending grew 512% month-over-month on PC after a lengthy period of low spending on additional content.”

Last but not least, here are the top selling games for PC and consoles in January 2020.

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
